Who needs to get the seed license?

Issue of Seed License
- India's states and union territories have established several methods for issuing seed licences. Therefore, each of these individuals must submit an application to the licencing authorities in order to get a licence for the sale, export, or import of seeds.
- After conducting any necessary inquiries, the licencing body may award a licence to any applicant.

Refusal to issue seed license
- A person cannot receive a seed licence if:
- whose previously issued licence is currently suspended, throughout the period of suspension;
- who had a prior licence awarded to them, within a year of the date of such cancellation.
- anyone within the three years prior to the date of application has been found guilty under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955), or any order made thereunder.
Validity of seed license
- Unless previously suspended or revoked, each seed licence is good for three years from the date of issuance.
