BEE Registration In Chennai

On March 1, 2002, the Government of India established the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in accordance with the terms of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. The Agency's job is to create initiatives that will boost India's use of energy efficiently and productively. Beginning in January 2010, the government has recommended making the BEE's provision of ratings for specific appliances in India mandatory. The goal of the Energy Efficiency Bureau is to "institutionalise" energy efficiency initiatives, support domestic delivery methods, and act as a national energy efficiency leader across all industries. According to the Energy Conservation Act of 2001 as a whole, the role of the Energy Efficiency Bureau is to assist in the development of policies and strategies with a focus on self-regulation and market values, with the main goal of reducing the energy intensity of the Indian economy.

Procedure for BEE Registration

There are three main steps to the BEE Registration procedure, including online forms and paper submissions. Company registration is the first step in the overall process of getting your product registered with BEE, which is followed by product testing and model approval. The steps in the registration procedure are briefly described here.

Company Registration :

Getting the business registered with the BEE using their web portal is the initial step in the star labelling registration process. This process must be followed by any manufacturer, importer, or trader who wants to apply under the plan. Documents that are required to be submitted along with applicant information are part of the registration procedure. Documents including ISO 9001, trademarks, COIs, authorization letters, and more must be uploaded while completing an online form. The applicant must also deliver the original hardcopy documents to the Bureau of Energy office.

A charge of 100,000 (if the applicant is a large scale industry) or 25,000 (if the applicant is not an industry) must also be paid in addition to the online application (If the applicant is a MSME).

Testing :

The applicant receives login information for his portal through the registered email ID once the bureau has approved the application for company registration. The applicant can complete the model registration application using the same. However, the applicant must first have his items evaluated in a NABL-accredited lab or an ILAC MRA facility before continuing with the model registration process. The test report must follow the format established by BEE and must include all of the testing parameters. According to the testing facility's requirements, the applicant must submit the testing records and a sample of the product for testing. Additionally, it must be confirmed that the LAB reports issue date is not more than 90 days prior to applying for the model registration.

Model Registration :

The applicant may now submit an application for model registration on the BEE portal after the testing is over. Along with the test results, registration requires essential papers in a specific manner (not older than 90 days). Once all the information is entered online and a sample label supplied. The bureau must be given a cost of INR 2000.

All original hardcopy documents must be given to the department along with the online application and payment confirmation once the application has been completed online.

The department examines each document that is sent or received before giving the applicant their final licence.
