EPR authorization is necessary for centralized data processing: Mainframe and Minicomputer.Manufacturer and Importer are responsible to ensure environmentally sound management of E-waste generated by electrical/electronic products at the end of their life. E-waste is a challenge for the environment because it often contains hazardous substances that can contaminate soil and water, as well as posing a risk to human health. In addition, E-waste is difficult to recycle due to its complex mix of materials. The manufacturer/importer must obtain EPR authorization from the Central Pollution Control Board prior to setting up a facility for centralized data processing: Mainframe and Minicomputer. They must also submit an annual report on the quantity and type of E-waste generated by their products, as well as the methods used for its disposal. With proper EPR authorization and management in place, manufacturers / importers can help to protect the environment from the harmful effects of E-waste.
