EPR Authorization is required for Cellular telephones.It is the responsibility of Manufacturer / Importer E-waste generated by electrical / electronic at the end of its life.EPR Authorization E-Waste Management and Recycling Rules, 2016 has put the onus on the to get EPR authorization from Central Pollution Board. CPCB.EPR authorization is necessary to import e-wastes into the country for recycling. The E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2011 have been notified vide S.O. 3158(E) dated 14th March, 2011 and have come into effect from 1st May, 2011. These rules supersede the E-Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 2010 notified vide S.O 2613(E) dated 31st December, 2010 which were published in the Gazette of India on 4th January, 2011. Under these rules, every manufacturer shall take back their EEE products at the end of its useful life free of cost and ensure that it is recycled or disposed off in an environmentally sound manner without any adverse effect to human health and environment.
